Pastor John Neufeld
VENTURE OF FAITH!
In the fall of 2004, Pastor John was confident that he had clear leading from the Lord to open up his home for a house church beginning with 3 couples. Soon the house was too small, so the group began to meet in a rented facility in Burns Lake.
About that time, John learned about the Calvary Chapel movement of churches from a former elder of the first Calvary Chapel in California. That church, which had been led by Pastor Chuck Smith, was blessing the establishment of churches in Canada. Inspired by Pastor Chuck’s commitment to teaching through the Word systematically, and keeping things simple, Pastor John began to teach the Bible in an expositional style, (“Simply teaching the Word simply”) and became affiliated with the Calvary Chapel movement. Our goal, as it was with Pastor Chuck, is to be led by the Holy Spirit in all that we do.
After renting various facilities over 14 years, the BLCC family was blessed to be invited to join a group of folks who were in possession of a large church structure. In the autumn, of 2018, the two groups came together and have been fellowshipping as a Calvary Chapel ever since.
John is married to Donna and they have three adult children, Jonathan, who is married to Becky (with 3 children); Sharon (widowed in 2024, with 2 children); and Jeremy who is engaged to be married to Lara-May.

Children's Ministry Coordinator Pam Higginson
Growing the team
Early in 2025 Pam was invited to join the BLCC team as the Children’s Ministry Co-ordinator.
Her hope is to facilitate programs that will provide a space for kids to learn and experience joy while building a foundational relationship with Jesus that will shape their lives.
Pam was born and raised in Burns Lake. She is the wife to Jay, and mother to 2 grown children Cody and Kimberly.
